Resumen
A geophysical characterization was carried out by applying methods magnetometry and electrical geo order to describe the lithological composition and possible existing subsurface minerals, according to physical properties (resistivity and magnetic susceptibility geo electric). This process was conducted in an iron ore mine located in Vargas, municipality of Paipa, Boyaca department, which nowadays no kind of material removal is performed sidewalk. The first phase of the project was the compilation and analysis, involving the collection of preliminary information. Fieldwork was conducted in different Phases, which were implemented in a way that ensured a consistent order in the collection and interpretation of data. The design phase of geophysics campaign for the acquisition of data magnetometry, was the establishment of a grid composed of approximately perpendicular lines to the geological formation, spaced apart 10 meters, using precise surveying (Geo-referencing of points by lifting GNSS). On each line sampling points were determined every 5 meters. Concluded that the acquisition phase, consisting of the magnetometer survey on each of the specific points, and then the processing and interpretation of the data was performed focusing magnetic anomalies which were applied electrical tomography was performed. To obtain the geoelectric tomography four profiles were developed, the three of them which were parallel to each other and transverse to the same profile. These profiles were performed using the electrode arrangement Dipole-Dipole a distance of 5 meters between electrodes and 10 meters between each profile. Later, having completed the fieldwork proceeded to the stage of processing by correlating and interpreting the results. With these data obtained and processed, a geological model for the exploration and exploitation of mineral was raised.
