Resumen
This report reflects the rural internship experience carried out as part of the Viva la Escuela program, highlighting the importance of adapting educational strategies to the needs. We worked closely with local schools to design and implement inclusive education programs relevant to the rural environment. The program, an initiative of Colombia's Ministry of National Education, was established in response to educational deficiencies exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program, which focuses on basic education, seeks to address learning gaps through the participation of volunteers from a broad range of disciplines. Activities during this internship included artistic workshops in drawing, music, dance and theater. The importance of integrating arts education into the school curriculum and extracurricular activities as a tool to foster creativity, personal expression and the development of social skills was emphasized. Teamwork, adaptability and problem solving in a rural environment were stressed.
