Apoyo en la revisión de la información, sistematización, análisis de datos y seguimiento a los indicadores sociales del Plan Distrital de Silvicultura Urbana, Zonas Verdes y Jardinería para Bogotá-PDSUZVJ (2019-2030)

Abstract

The importance of urban trees in a city like Bogotá lies not only in the environmental benefits they offer, but also in their ability to transform public spaces and foster a closer relationship between the community and its environment. Forestry activities, led by entities such as the Bogotá Botanical Garden (JBB), the Special Administrative Unit for Public Services (UAESP) and the Bogotá Water and Sewer Company (EAAB), seek to strengthen this connection through projects that actively involve citizens in the planting, care and maintenance of urban trees. However, ensuring that these projects endure over time requires a comprehensive approach that not only contemplates the planting of trees, but also social support that ensures the appropriation of these spaces by the community. This report presents an analysis of how the Bogotá community has participated in the forestry activities carried out by these entities, with special emphasis on the need to improve social support strategies to foster community cohesion, the ongoing care of planted trees, and establish close traceability between the entities providing these services and the population.
