Resumen
Food sovereignty is a crucial challenge in Colombia, a country with vast agricultural potential that is, however, underutilized. Despite having 114 million hectares of land, only 5.3 million hectares were cultivated in 2021, which represents just 13.5% of the agricultural potential (La República). Factors such as lack of investment, an unstructured market, government negligence and limited technology adoption have contributed to this stagnation, generating threats to food security and the rural economy. This project aims to develop a business model that implements integrated technological solutions to advise Colombian farmers. The platform will provide key data that improves the efficiency and quality of its production processes, contributing to the strengthening of the agricultural sector and food sovereignty in the country. The initiative focuses on the development of agricultural information systems (AIS) and data management platforms. Through the collection, analysis and application of large data sets, we seek to optimize decision making and improve production efficiency. The recommendations are transmitted to farmers in accessible, practical language adapted to the specific needs of each one. Agker not only works to optimize agricultural production, but also encourages the creation of a community of actors in the sector, promoting strategic alliances that connect producers with markets. This project has been selected by Tecnoparque Nodo Bogotá for its prototyping phase, which supports its viability and high potential for impact on the agro-industrial ecosystem. The ultimate goal is to implement a scalable model that can benefit small farmers, consolidating Agker as a comprehensive solution for rural development.
