Resumen
We present results about imaginaries and expectations on the universe by children, particularly with a group of students from public schools in Bogotá city. This research used quantitative and qualitative techniques. Data obtained were organized in multiple tables with different parameters. We analyzed it through a descriptive statistical, and at the same time, a descriptive interpretative analysis when we have differences in language by the subjects, comparing results between different academical levels. We start from the assumption that in order to develop processes of teaching and learning astronomy, differentiated conditions must be considered depending on the context, according to our perspective of didactics of science. In addition, we consider problems like the lack of knowledge on this area by teachers in training and in practice, and the graphic, conceptual and mathematical errors presented in scholarly academic texts demonstrated in several results research carried out by different authors. We found children present ideas, knowledge, and argumentation about the objects into the solar system and beyond the solar system with interactions between them and with the earth. But, many of these ideas are incoherent itself and arise because of science divulgation or, effects of astronomy teaching process, not because is natural or there is comprehension about their language. Usually, their argumentations do not go beyond what can be elaborated from common sense and everyday life, despite having gone through teaching processes. This is an important result to take into account designing specific material for this population.
