Resumen
This study proposed to use construction and demolition waste (C&DW) as an aggregate (which we will call in this document RCDA) within a dense hot mix asphalt MDC-25 according to the specifications INVIAS 2013, the C&DW material from the landfill Mina Tunjuelo, RCD Cemex operations Tunjuelo mine (Bogota) replacing in its totality the coarse fraction and part of the fine fraction, complementing it with natural sand to improve the granulometric distribution, the interaction between particles and its mechanical behavior, this complementary sand was obtained from the Guayuriba river located in the Municipality of Meta. The use of river sand was aimed at improving the percentage of fine fraction retained in the #80 sieve (0.18mm), since, after the crushing of the RCD, the material is mostly classified as coarse aggregate, since the percentage of fine fraction (sizes smaller than 4mm) is less than 15,46%. The analysis was carried out by means of two tests: Marshall (INV. E-748-13) and evaluation of water susceptibility using the indirect traction test (INV. E-725-13). The results obtained from the mixture with RCDA, were evaluated in relation to the specifications of the current standard (Table 450-3, Table 450-10 and first part of Table 450-11 INVIAS). It was concluded that the mixture meets the requirements of the standard to be used for flexible pavements with traffic level 1 and 2 as an intermediate layer and base.
