Resumen
The following document titled, “The greenhouse gases effect management program in a pharmaceutical laboratory” is being carried out as an initiative of the pharmaceutical laboratory to contribute to the mitigation of climate change, which is a phenomenon that represents one of the greatest challenges for humanity, due its effect on the environment, the economy and society. This document has been developed in three phases. The first one establishes the standards to complete a greenhouse gases inventory, including the identification of the emission sources and the necessary information collected from the years 2014, 2015 and 2016. Lastly, in this first phase is the recompilation and organization of information to process the data in an emissions calculator tool developed by the CCB (Chamber of Commerce of Bogota). The second phase is about of the greenhouse effect gases inventory, which considers the results of the first phase and the ISO-14064 standards for analyzing the inventory. A total was obtained from three inventories, one per each calculated year, where 2014 is presented as the base year and can be found in the annexes section of the document. The third phase consists of the identification of the possible alternatives of mitigation and compensation, considering the results of the greenhouse effect gases inventory previously developed in the second phase. Additionally, each alternative is given an evaluation of its financial and environmental viability to facilitate the decision about which option is the most viable in terms of execution by the pharmaceutical laboratory.
