Resumen
The present study determined the durability of the immunized and untreated wood of the species Picea abies (L.) Karts (Norway spruce) and Pinus sylvestris L. (Silvetre pine), against termite attack under tropical conditions, following the guidelines of ASTM D 1758/06. The material comes from the Austrian forests in central Europe, where the species in question are considered in the Mass Timber wood market for their various advantages in resistance, quality and technology. The trial consisted of establishing a stake cemetery located in the municipality of Villanueva Casanare, Colombia; the installation of the cemetery was carried out following a completely random design with 210 specimens of dimensions 40 x 40 x 280 mm, distributed in nine treatments that were arranged in the field on rows of 0.6 m and columns of 0.5 m, buried at an average depth 20 cm. The evaluation was carried out in two periods of time, assessing the affectation in the longitudinal, transverse and depth planes both at two and ten months.
