Resumen
Vallenato, as a representative musical genre of Colombia, has gained great popularity in recent years, which has sparked a growing interest in its study and interpretation. This research focuses on the role of the electric bass within vallenato, highlighting its relevance in the creation of a new sound texture that has contributed to the international projection of the genre. It emphasizes that playing the bass in this context requires a high technical level, therefore it seeks to recognize the work of the bassist and offer useful tools for musicians interested in exploring this style.
The work ranges from the formulation of the problem, justification and objectives, to a detailed description of the bass playing techniques in vallenato. It includes examples in musical notation, the transcription of six recognized songs and interviews with expert musicians such as Luis Ángel "El Papa" Pastor. In addition, didactic resources such as CD and DVD recordings are integrated, as well as annexes with interviews, conceptual maps and rhythmic accompaniment tracks. The document is both a technical study and a tribute to the contribution of the electric bass in the evolution of vallenato.
