Resumen
At present, different studies have indicated that social and family affective factors affect not only learning, but also the development of children in the school context. The present investigation starts from this problem situation and proposes the use of literature as a methodological strategy to strengthen the socio-affective axes of the students and in this way, contribute to minimize the impact of the emotional difficulties in the classroom. We choose literature as a pedagogical tool because of its connection with the emotional field of those who exercise this art. We believe that the processes of reading, writing and orality involved in the narrative literature allow the identification of situations and emotions both personal and the environment, which allows to guide emotional learning and facilitates the expression of socio-affective aspects within the classroom. Our hypothesis is that adequate socio-affective development and good interpersonal relationships in the classroom enrich the learning environment and contribute to the integral formation of children. For the development of this research, we designed a methodological sequence composed of ten literary workshops that pursued in addition to strengthening the socio-affective axes of the students, favoring their communication skills, especially reading
comprehension and written production that are fundamental for the adequate teaching- learning process. The population involved was made up of fifth-grade boys and girls of the
morning day of Las Villas educational institution, El Porvenir in the municipality of Soacha. The development of the workshops and the analysis categories, allowed to verify that the literary resources are a tool capable of strengthening the socio-affective development of the students and reinforcing the skills of reading comprehension and textual production, which improves the learning environment and impacts positively the integral formation of the students of the fifth grade of the day tomorrow.
