Resumen
Since ancient times, human beings have felt the need to transform the environment for their comfort, civil engineering is considered the discipline that provides tools and knowledge for this purpose, from it branches are derived in charge of specific aspects for design, construction and maintenance infrastructure. In order to guarantee an earthquake resistant structure with primary solutions for basic public services, water, basic sanitation and electricity in the El Espinal village of the municipality of San José de Miranda-Santander, a two-level earthquake resistant house in confined masonry was designed using Title E of NSR-10 as a methodological guide, conducting a soil study on the ground, the respective verifications for compliance with the earthquake resistance parameters, and the structural design of the house. The results of the soil study and the necessary verifications made it possible to carry out the definitive structural design of the house with initial layouts for electrical and plumbing networks. Therefore, it is considered that the knowledge acquired during academic training as civil technologists and autonomous learning are sufficient tools to solve these types of needs.
