Resumen
The present investigation consists in the design and application of a didactic unit that address the type of environmental contamination "smog" as the main axis, from a socioscientific issues approach or CSC for short to promote different capacities in tenth grade students of the Colegio Para Hijos de Empleados de la Contraloria General de la Republica, abilities such as critical thinking, ethical and environmental growth, the ability to highlight social issues in science, decision-making, etc. Where it was sought to solve the general objective which consisted of the design and application of the didactic unit, thus through a mixed research approach the objective was carried out, collecting and processing the information obtained from the different activities, reaching the It was concluded that the design and application of the didactic unit on smog was possible through a CSC approach, as well as the development from different dimensions of the scientific and the social in the students, also contributing to their critical thinking.
