Within the area of fluid mechanics, valves are absolutely necessary for the construction of fluid flow systems, since they are required for the dismantling of pipes, regulation of flow over the system and maintenance to pump or turbine because flow is prevented for said procedure. In spite of the great functionality of this accessory the use of the valves generates energy losses on the fluid that circulates in the pipeline from point A to point B, and therefore It is convenient to study them for an adequate design of the system and for the application of the valve at its best performance. In the present project the analysis of pressure drop due to the energetic losses on a ball valve is proposed, for the previous it is proposed the use of a software of engineering called ANSYS, which has different environments towards the analysis mechanics of both solids and fluids by means of computational simulation according to input parameters for the generation of an experiment closer to the reality that be able to check the theory when applied under non-ideal conditions. To carry out the analysis of the pressure drop on the accessory, it is generate a simulation through the ANSYS software of the losses that are generated by varying the opening angle of the valve or the incoming flow to it, and from this way to make a video tutorial as an audiovisual record of what has been done so that the students are given a clear and concise idea of what has been done and the functionality of the simulation software for the mechanical engineer.
