Resumen
The councilman Rolando González, of the Radical Change party, who is the president of the Accreditation Commission of the Bogotá Council and was the promoter of the highest commendation and tribute that the Council awarded to the institution.
Origin of the Tribute: Councilman González explains that the initiative originated with him after noticing that the District University, despite its importance, had never received the highest award granted by the Bogotá Council. He also recalled that it was the Bogotá Council that greenlighted the university's creation 70 years ago.
Recognition of the Present and Future: The councilman highlights that the university is an academic and pedagogical benchmark, and that its present is "excellent and magnificent." He expresses his hope that in the future the institution will consolidate itself as an international vanguard, especially in Latin America.
Expansion Proposals: González underscores the need for the university to increase its presence in the district's public entities and work on expanding its campuses in the city. He mentions the recent inauguration of the Bosa campus and the Council's insistence on building three or four more campuses, such as in the Suba locality, which has more than two million inhabitants without a public or private university.
Resource Injection: The Bogotá Council has been injecting resources into the university so that it can extend its programs and increase the visibility of its name at a national and Latin American level.
