Abstract

This document presents the review of the Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (BBySE) component within the framework of the Big Data strategy of the “Information and Knowledge” program of the Association of Regional Autonomous Corporations and Sustainable Development (ASOCARS). This analysis is based on the establishment of six categories of analysis: the National Policy for the Integrated Management of Biodiversity and its Ecosystem Services (PNGIBSE), Regional Protected Areas, the National Forest Traceability System (SNTF), Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP), Deforestation and Climate Change, classified into 5 groups: Conservation/Protection, Sustainable Use and Harvesting, Deforestation, Climate Change and Transversal. Through this analysis framework, synergies between the data reported by the Regional Autonomous and Sustainable Development Corporations (CAR) and the selected categories were identified. In addition, the document describes the methodology used and details the access to the digital resource “Experience”, focused on the Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (BBySE) component.
