Resumen
After seven years without a strike in higher education in Colombia, (the last one was carried out as a protest against the modification of Law 30, in 2011) on October 11, 2018 a generalized strike was agreed in 32 universities Public at national level. Several platforms were convened within the student movement, including the National Union of Higher Education Students (UNEES) and the Colombian Association of Student Representatives of Higher Education (ACREES); After several meetings, a list of 10 basic conditions for negotiating the strike was drafted. The movement created communicative products whose objective was to make known to both the student movement and the national community the reasons and details of the strike. In this investigation the communicative products or formats (performances, banners, songs, slogans) that were created in order to inform, reflect and debate, from the perspective of students organized as a movement, about activities, achievements, are studied and analyzed, purposes, results, difficulties, etc. which were made public in the context of the National Student Strike. All these communicative products are considered of alternative type and their purpose is to replace the deficiencies, the proclivity to the disinformation or the partialization of the denominated mass media
