Resumen
Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, is home to invaluable natural resources represented by its 17 wetlands, ecosystems that are fundamental to the city's ecological balance. These bodies of water perform essential functions such as climate regulation, water purification, and the maintenance of high biodiversity. The purpose of this monograph is to analyze and visualize the diversity and importance of these wetlands using data analysis tools such as Power BI and ArcGIS Pro. The main objective of this research is to offer a comprehensive view of Bogotá's wetlands, highlighting their ecological, environmental, and territorial attributes. To this end, we have integrated geospatial data, biological information, and environmental parameters collected from reliable sources and updated through 2024, including government entities, environmental organizations, and research studies. The analysis covers the city's 17 wetlands, considering aspects such as their geographic location, extent, hydrological characteristics, biodiversity, land use, temporal evolution, threats and vulnerabilities, as well as their classification according to ecosystem type. A data model was built in ArcGIS Pro that consolidates all the geographic and thematic information, connected to a database managed using PostgreSQL. This architecture allowed for connection with Power BI, facilitating the generation of dynamic and interactive visualizations that contribute to the dissemination and understanding of information. This research not only highlights the ecological importance of Bogotá's wetlands but also emphasizes the need to implement effective conservation strategies. It also demonstrates the value of data visualization as a key tool for decision-making.
