Resumen
The present research had as objective to prepare decoctions of Altamisa (Artemisia vulgaris) and to elaborate shampoos with the decoctions to different concentrations and its application in the bath of dogs infested with fleas (Ctenocephalides canis) and (Ctenocephalides felis), with the purpose of eliminating them avoiding Thus damaging the health of the animals and the people around them. The physical and chemical properties of the shampoo were dark green, an intense odor of high mist and a pH of 6.61. The insecticidal activity was determined in bathing flea infested dogs at time 1 (8 days) and time 2 (16 days) with two replicates per shampoo of different concentration, Concentration 1 (50% Altamisa), Concentration 2 (Altamisa To 70%) and Concentration 3 (90% Altamisa), demonstrating that concentration 3 is the most effective for flea elimination. To determine the effectiveness of the treatments based on altamisa applied to the dogs an analysis of variance (ANOVA Test) was performed where the shampoo with concentration 1 presented an average mortality of 69.7% of the Ctenocephalides canis, the shampoo with concentration 2 Presented an average mortality of 82.7% of the Ctenocephalides canis and finally the shampoo with concentration 3 presented an average mortality of 87% of the Ctenocephalides canis confirming the hypothesis about the effectiveness of shampoo with higher concentration.
