Valoración económica de la captura y almacenamiento de carbono en el parque natural Chicaque, San Antonio del Tequendama, Cundinamarca, Colombia

Resumen
The economic valuation of the carbon storage in the vegetation of the Chicaque Natural Park was realized, this one counts on a typical cover of low montane humid forest, biome that has been highly intervened by humans, due to the expansion of the cities, the ascent of the limit of agriculture, mining, grazing and burning, this has led to the fact that these forests are increasingly scarce in the Colombian Andes, which means an important structural, functional and diversity loss, being these regulating ecosystems of different natural processes and having a high wealth of flora and fauna. For the measurement of biomass and the determination of stored carbon, was used the methodology proposed by the "National Protocol for the Estimation of Biomass / Carbon" by IDEAM in 2011. A stratified random sampling was made and 13 square plots of 0.0625 ha (25 x 25) were established; in total, 3 main strata were identified in the vegetation cover of the park: grassland, oak forest and high cloud forest and 182.282,6 ton/CO2e were stored; subsequently, for the economic valuation were established two scenarios: the first consisted of the availability to pay of the countries within Annex 1 of the Kyoto Protocol estimated at 7.00 USD/tCO2 and the second according to the prices given by the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme Set at € 5.04/tCO2. The economic value of CO2 storage in the Park for the first scenario was $3,803,468,932.74 COP and for the second scenario $ 3,153,549,685 COP. For the CO2 fixation, the same two previous scenarios were raised, and each one three different Discount Rates: (0.04), (0) and (-0.04). In scenario one was found a present value of $730.993.300,11, $1.090.463.180,39 y $1.744.938.421,47 Colombian pesos for discount rates (0.04), (0) and (-0.04) respectively, for scenario two a present value of $606.084.532,89, $904.129.856,21 y $1.446.808.694,05 Colombian pesos for discount rates (0.04), (0) and (-0.04) respectively. Finally, it is possible to show that the estimation of these values generates different options of use of the resources, safeguarding them and tending to the conservation, in this case, the forest of fog.
