Resumen
The Tropical Dry Forest (bs-T) ecosystem is one of the most degraded and threatened, in addition to being one of the least conserved in the Neotropical region (Ballesteros et al, 2019). According to figures reported by the Humboldt Research Institute (2014), in Colombia there is less than 4% of the original bs-T coverage, another percentage (5%) corresponds to remnants of bs-T with some degree of intervention, that is, that more than 90% of the dry forests in the country have disappeared. In accordance with the above, this project proposes to evaluate the technical, financial and environmental feasibility of a strategy for the sustainable production of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) in the municipality of San Juan de Nepomuceno, through the formation of associations, which have the ability to develop production chains, where the highest value of profits is received by primary producers, owners or people who inhabit these ecosystems and not, on the contrary, remain in the hands of intermediaries or distribution companies, which are increasingly acquiring greater power in the market (Juliá & Marí, 2002). In this way, a sense of belonging to the BS-T is generated, since the communities will be able to benefit from the products derived from it (other than wood), and that in turn generate greater profits, promoting conservation and protection thereof. It begins with the characterization of the market evaluating the current production at a regional, national and international level and the natural supply of the territory of Non-Timber Forest Products, then the production lines are defined with the technical and extraction requirements necessary for a sustainable strategy and finally the conditions and structures for the formation of associations are determined.
