Resumen
Urban Agriculture has been one of the most important agricultural practices in Colombia, specifically when the country was going through a strong internal conflict, specifically between the years 1946 to 1960, it left with several social phenomena, one of them is the forced internal displacement of farmers to urban areas of the country (Niño, 1999), over time it has been key for the personal and collective development of farmers and in turn of urban areas, since "urban agriculture constitutes a component of the system of almost all urban spaces" (Degenhart, B. 2016). Taking into account the relevance of Agriculture, this paper identifies and analyzes the different practices of Environmental Management, focused on an agroecological management of urban and peri-urban vegetable gardens in Bogota.
For this purpose, the implementation of environmental management practices in urban and peri-urban gardens under the supervision of the Bogotá Botanical Garden (JBB) was analyzed, and documents published by the JBB and other sources were reviewed and supported. The collection of information is done tactically by visiting urban and peri-urban gardens in workshops, talks, presentations and training on the proper use of natural resources, waste management, environmental management tools, among other topics related to the processes carried For this purpose, the implementation of environmental management practices in urban and peri-urban gardens, which are under the supervision of the Bogotá Botanical Garden (JBB), was analyzed through the review and support of documents published by the JBB and other sources. The knowledge acquired in the Environmental Management career was put into practice to strengthen the activities of the communities related to the environmental and scientific component, carrying out field accompaniment and multimedia records on biotic interactions for the enrichment of the Biotic Interactions Network Platform as a complementary activity of the internship, fulfilling the main objective of the research process related to the reporting of biotic interactions.
The implementation of environmental management practices in production systems with agroecological management in urban and peri-urban gardens in Bogota has a high level of applicability at social, economic and environmental levels. The results obtained in this work show that resource optimization can be achieved through practices applied by the people of interest who are part of the urban and peri-urban vegetable gardens, considering the scope of the practices in the social, environmental and economic spheres.
This process has a component of citizen training in different topics related to Environmental Management and the knowledge of tools for implementation. From this component it is proposed to support the processes linked to the Educational and Cultural Subdirection of the Botanical Garden of Bogota, which will be developed in the modality of internship with degree option to obtain the title of Environmental Administrator of the Distrital University Francisco José de Caldas.
