Resumen
This proposal aims to encourage and strengthen empathy through Mathematics-Art link by means of mathematics activities which promote group cooperation and respect; this to allows children to explore their qualities in other fields such as arts and develop them. In view of arts as a methodology to work in the classroom, students could get closer to mathematics by reasoning about their progress, it will be promoted debate spaces that allow children to communicate and participate through collaboration and dialog. Considering the aforementioned, the activities are focused on Geometric Mathematic Thinking (characteristics and classification of geometric forms). It is appropriate to interact with students and recognize the characteristics the group has, it means, to generate a relationship between teacher-student, as Ruiz de Ugarrio (1965) state that the Principles for the Teaching of Mathematics in Primary Education stand out the importance of representation through the way of perception to abstract thinking, “el papel de la comprensión, la reflexión y el desarrollo del lenguaje, en la actividad racional; y la práctica, como principio y fin de toda actividad cognoscitiva, pues a partir de ella, el individuo aplica en la vida aquello que ha obtenido como resultado del pensamiento.” (Asuntos de método en la educación matemática, Angel Ruiz). So, this is the way in which is going to be determined the obstacles and difficulties that the students present. By the activities, it will be evidenced the team cooperation and empathy, according to Jaramillo (2012), “Un equipo puede definirse como un conjunto o grupo de personas que poseen capacidades complementarias y que colaboran para alcanzar unos objetivos comunes compartiendo responsabilidades. En este contexto, el trabajo en equipo hace referencia al conjunto de acciones, estrategias, técnicas o procedimientos que utiliza ese grupo para lograr sus metas”. In this way, all the activities will have different tasks for each student to make them feel able of develop them and understand that their contribution was vital to finish successfully each one of the activities. So, in one hand the autonomous work is strengthen and on the other one, the team development to gather every individual process.
