Resumen
In the present investigation, it is argued that social and environmental conditions are elements that determine health, for which a conceptual analysis is proposed in which the differences and relationships between determinants of health and social and environmental conditions of the population are defined; as well as an examination of the indicators developed in the DANE Quality of Life Survey, related to the topic. It is argued, at a general level, that health depends not only on the individual conditions of the people, nor on the level of income they have to access the benefits of a quality health system, but also on the characteristics of the environment in which they live, living, the environmental conditions that surround them, and the traits that determine social development.
