Resumen
Phonics research: a didactic adaptation for the development of communication skills in preschool children aims to design and describe the effectiveness of printed didactic material to teach English to children between 5 and 6 years old at the Melanie Klein Institution in Mosquera, considering its curriculum and institutional methodology. The methodology used under a mixed method, action research, with a descriptive documentary design. The population and sample are structured by 30 children from the Melanie Klein preschool in Mosquera, 15 of them were in the experimental group (transition 3), where the designed material was implemented, and the other 15 students (transition 1) did not use the material. The instruments used were a pre observation guide. Survey of teachers. Post observation guide. Comparison between the final scoresheet of each group. Data analysis of the information collected. The preliminary results show the need to generate and design pedagogical educational material with didactic adaptation for the teaching of English based on the Phonetic method as a teaching strategy at the preschool level. It is also of vital importance to emphasize that these materials can become a pedagogical tool of great value for the teaching of a foreign language within this institution, since it is proposed as an institutional contribution to the Learning of English for preschool children, which considers the Curriculum and the needs of children, developing original material and useful resources for the preschool level at the institution.
