Abstract

Electrical energy is the most used. This can be transformed into light, mechanical, and thermal energy, among others. The amount of electrical equipment that is found, in addition to giving comfort to develop different activities, also implies a greater consumption of energy, which varies during the day and even depends on the month of the year. The use of different technologies for lighting and the inefficient control of these, as well as the use of different office equipment, present problems that affect the consumption of electrical energy, manifesting themselves in increases in energy costs. The objective of this project is to make a proposal for energy efficiency focused on the characteristics of electricity demand for lighting and office equipment of the District University Francisco José De Caldas headquarters of Bosa Porvenir. Taking into account elements such as the current utilization factor of the facilities as well as the load profile, it is possible to know the behavior of electrical energy over time, to analyze consumption in detail, in such a way that the centers are identified for consumption and plan actions that allow its control and management. One element to consider is that the management system can be adjusted to all or part of the installations and to the equipment that is considered of interest for the analysis of this distribution. Consequently, the project is oriented solely to the analysis of lighting equipment and offices to study the energy distribution between the different facilities that allow the operation of this equipment. It is important to bear in mind that the proposals and actions to reduce the consumption of electrical energy must not affect the quality or access to the different services that are involved, but must be appropriate and effective strategies to reduce the consumption of electrical energy. Due to the current health emergency condition due to COVID-19, the different campuses of the Francisco José de Caldas District University are developing academic and administrative activities remotely. For this reason, there is no entry to the campuses without permission.
