Abstract

The present work is the result of a process of memory and claim of the fabric of Iraca palm with its main exponent, the hat from Suceño, elaborated by artisan women of the department of Huila (focused on Suaza / Guayabal), which favors the creation of an audiovisual element - short film, where you can see the different Artistic languages ​​of artisanal practice. It is the recognition of the artistic work of the artisan woman through the life of Elicenda Méndez, my grandmother; with her I propose to make a reflection on the future of craft practices such as this one, which are destined for extinction and tend to orality, memory and with them, to oblivion if the actors are not made visible and the practice cannot be transmitted to new generations. For this, the life story of the “artisan major” with more than 70 years of practice tireless that is my maternal grandmother, added the ethnographic study conducted in the center The Guayabal-Suaza town and the experiences that arise from it become tools for the construction of audiovisual material, the framework of the Huilense region and your protagonist in everyday life.
