Resumen
This research work shows the colombian´s social representation in the Mito magazine, through the chronicles and testimonies published in the period of 1955 and 1957. This time, in the Colombian history was marked by the transit of the Rojas Pinilla dictatorship and violence time that affected all the public and private spheres life in the country. In this panorama came the Mito Magazine, which for seven years offered bimonthly publications that aside from literature, also provided and enriched the lives of intellectuals in the mid-fifties with essays, film notes, theater, art criticism, manifestos, translations and additionally, became a reference in the history of Colombian literature because it managed to bring together a group of erudites who broke with traditional schemes and opened the way to a literary modernity, in which expression and aesthetics went hand in hand consciousness of being in a world conquered by violence and desolation. It ideology was to empower words and endow them with freedom, responsibility and ethics.
