Resumen
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) enable students to explore complex geographic data from various sources, such as maps, satellite imagery, and geographic databases, thereby facilitating the understanding of trends and patterns. Additionally, they promote the development of spatial analysis skills that are increasingly relevant in today's context. Teaching GIS in geography is essential as it helps to comprehend the dynamic relationship between human and environmental processes, recognizing variations in space and time. The use of GIS not only allows for the analysis and visualization of critical information but is also vital for decision-making in areas such as resource management, natural resource conservation, and transportation and logistics planning.
