Resumen
A problem in the education sector in Latin America and the Caribbean is university drop-out, that is, students who for some reason do not continue their studies in some higher education entity; This phenomenon in some countries reaches up to 50% of the student population. This work seeks to design an observatory model that allows generating knowledge against the phenomenon of university dropout to improve the implementation of programs and plans of decision-making bodies in the sector. By identifying variables, actors and services, it is possible to propose a regional observatory model that takes advantage of the cooperation of different institutions in the region to address this problem, this under the context of the ACACIA project (Cooperation, Development and Strengthening Cooperation Centers) of Good Practices that Support, Cultivate, Adapt, Communicate, Innovate and Welcome the University Community. Financed by the European Union).
