Resumen
More and more companies choose to use containers (baskets) returnable for movement of materials, products and / or goods in order to reduce costs and contribute to protecting the environment. Each year, the number of reusable baskets on the market increases as products move towards companies and within them. More and more companies are understanding and observing the advantages obtained when using reusable ". As a result of its versatility, reusable are used in distribution chains between several companies or just within a facility. Moreover, these containers are playing a significant role in the development of electronic commerce. The food and automotive industries have been the main proponents of circulation systems in containers. Reusable in these industries is increasing as distributors of these products exert pressure to the rest of the chain. The push for "just in time" of products in the distribution line delivery has generated a significant impact on the increased use of reusable containers. Companies do not want to store products in their facilities. Instead, they want to receive the necessary products at the right time. Reusable containers are perfect for transporting products easy and quickly
Meanwhile, the massive incorporation of logistics practices such as Kanban or Just In Time require efficient management of returnable assets as a key aspect of the management of the supply chain and financial management of cash flow and corporate profitability. For this reason, it is required to perform effective control management to identify, monitor and control both the inventory and the flow of returnable assets within the logistics supply chain in which they are used. In general, the main problem to be addressed is the lack of visibility of these assets, resulting directly in the inability to manage them practical and efficient way.
Inversa1 logistics is a strategic variable in business competitiveness, the improper handling of the baskets in the process of reconditioning firms incur additional costs increased by physical damage of these; before this one reason why in businesses traceability of the baskets in their logistics processes is lost, it is because they do not have a bearing fixed assets and there is a responsibility assigned in the physical management of layettes, which increases the likelihood of theft, producing overruns in logistics operation and thus the unavailability of layettes that causes failure in delivery times, demotion in service indicators and loss of customer trust towards the organization; all these factors influence the sales decline and lower competitiveness of the company, which gives a general result a problem in terms of inefficient practices in reverse logistics management Layettes. Not all companies are aware of the negative consequences of bad practices of reverse logistics and high costs generated by the repeated process of reinvestment in the baskets. Companies must begin to be aware that the development of its activity need not have negative effects on the environment. Issues such as reducing emissions, minimizing waste, clean production and recycling, are becoming elements considered in the formulation of business strategy and so is reflected in the increasingly frequent environmental reports. Companies begin to discover the economic potential of this waste, whose management is configured, in many cases, as a new business. The recovery of products and materials discarded by consumers present great opportunities for companies that can achieve sustainable competitive advantage through efficient management of its processes and operations.
