Evaluación de la biomasa y captura de carbono en bosques altoandinos mediante patrones florísticos, estructurales y funcionales en la Cordillera Oriental – Cundinamarca

Abstract

This research was carried out in the Municipality of Guasca, Municipality of Tabio and the mountains of Torca, where there is high Andean forest and where is the high basin of the Bogotá River and this study had the objective to evaluate the biomass and carbon capture of this ecosystem from floristic, structural and functional patterns, in 6 Permanent Monitoring Plots (PPM) of 0.04 ha that were established in 2013, through the use of the Field-Map Technology, that facilitates the collection of data and reduces the uncertainty of the information collected. In the same way, 624 individuals were monitored from 48 species. The IVI was calculated to determine the 10 most important species. The species that had the highest annual diameter increases, potential reserves and rate of accumulation of aerial biomass and forest carbon were Croton bogotanus Cuatrec. (0.42 cm/year), Weinmannia tomentosa L.f. (0.30 cm / year) and Clusia multiflora Kunth. (0.30 cm/year). These reflect the importance of these forests in terms of the ecosystem services they can present for the well-being of the population. The study area has an estimated aerial biomass of 141.46 t ha-1 and stores an average of 70.73 t C ha-1.
