Resumen
The hospitalization of young individuals can be a highly impactful and, in many cases, traumatic experience as it disrupts their daily life and separates them from their familiar environment to face something new and unknown for a certain period of time. Within the hospital classroom, a common situation is shared: illness. The aim is to prevent frustration by keeping the child motivated in an environment created through strategies involving the family and close individuals. This fosters a sense of support and trust, enabling the child to express their emotions and thoughts. Additionally, they find a place within the hospital where they can play, reduce the fear and anxiety that comes with being in such a setting, and have fun in a way that resembles a normalized situation. Despite being a part of the hospital, the classroom should allow hospitalized children and adolescents to escape and distract themselves from concerns about their condition. This recreational function, involving entertainment and enjoyment, not only provides an opportunity to continue normal processes of learning and cognitive development but also contributes to shorter recovery times and improved quality of conditions for recuperation.
