Resumen
Our project was born to see the need to document the methodology implemented since the present year for the maintenance of cartographic bases, through the analysis, revision and use of the optical and radar image inputs, toponymy and basic cartography of previous processes. Monitoring the changes that the cartographic information undergoes in its geographical and alphanumeric aspects; Applicable to scales that will be carried out said process. In the subdivision of Geography and Cartography of the Agustín Codazzi IGAC Geographic Institute, each methodology is documented and officialized of the processes that are performed, thanks to this, we proceed to search for existing documentation that can guide us and directly involve the maintenance of cartographic databases . This is how we found several guides that are not officialized, but that are part of different points of the project process to document with topics such as: the metadata for each project, the checklist, the change report table , The treatment of water surfaces in the maintenance process, the homologation of the PK CUEs, as well as documentation for a scale of 1: 100,000, which is of vital importance for our project, taking it as a basis for the development of documentation and comparing According to the scales, the elements that should or should not be included from one scale to another. Thanks to the analyzes carried out together with the supervision and coordination group, several points of the process are standardized as they are: the use of the FT's and the splicing errors according to the origin of each sheet and its joints. This way, it is possible to write the necessary guidelines to document the methodology to be used in the Institute for the maintenance of cartographic databases at different scales, from the date on which the document is made official, a task to be carried out by the coordination of the Products GIT Cartographic. It is concluded that it is very important to periodically update the processes that involve cartographic and geographical data, as these change not only by our culture but also natural and climatic phenomena, and there is a strict need to have a formal document of standardization Of each project to be developed in the IGAC before its initiation, which should involve all the personnel involved, initially the supervision and coordination, followed by the person in charge of its development, since they are the ones who evidence the errors and possible changes to be made To the methodology. This keeps the quality of the approved products to be delivered to the end user at the appropriate level, where the Institute must have clear guidelines for its processes for the different entities interested in mapping.
