Resumen
The present work shows the results of the scientometric study of the scientific production published during the years 2015 to 2020 about the plant species Punica granatum L. The bibliographic search was carried out in the databases: Science Direct, Springer Link and Springer Nature. The data from the registries were categorized in a double entry matrix, indicators were established, such as the impact factor of the publications, number of articles per year, per continent and country, type of study (chemical, biological or chemical-biological) , publications per organ of the studied plant, total content of metabolites per organ, reported secondary metabolites and biological activities. Based on scientometric indicators, it was established that Asia is one of the continents with the highest scientific production, followed by Europe and South America; within the publications analyzed it is highlighted that 70.79% correspond to studies of a chemical and biological type, additionally it was possible to establish that the most studied organ for this species is the fruit with 88.76% of the total publications, the secondary metabolites reported to a greater extent are phenolic acids, flavonoids and tannins, and to a lesser extent lignans, terpenes and sterols, some of the most representative biological activities are: antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic.
