Resumen
This degree work is presented as an artistic creation or interpretation, exploring the impact of political and social conditions on the cultural development of Cuba. Starting in the middle of the 20th century, Cuban artists faced an adverse environment that shaped their creative process and prompted them to innovate and adapt to the limitations imposed by their context. In this analysis, two emblematic figures of Cuban music stand out: Chucho and Bebo Valdés, who are living representations of perseverance and the search for expressive freedom in a restrictive environment. Their career not only highlights their virtuosity, but also their ability to overcome obstacles, which makes them inspiring references for new generations of musicians. The author of the work, motivated by admiration for these two great musicians, focuses on the study of the work "La Comparsa" by Ernesto Lecuona. This analysis is not only limited to the technical interpretation, but also investigates the sound and structural components that make this piece a fundamental work in the Latin American piano repertoire. By breaking down these compositional elements, the author seeks to understand how they can be reinterpreted and adapted within a contemporary context. Finally, the work will culminate in a final concert, where a new work inspired by the elements studied will be presented. This will not only serve as a celebration of Cuban musical heritage, but also as a demonstration of how tradition can merge with innovation, offering a new approach to musical performance and creation in a context where freedom of expression remains an issue. Relevant considering that the analysis goes beyond the musical, since the emotional plays an important role when creating a piece like this.
