Resumen
The main goal of this research is to recognize the cosmovision of the Embera Katio and Embera Chami peoples, as a starting point to build tools that contribute to develop intercultural pedagogical proposals, that allow the recognition and promotion of bilingualism, inside the district education institution, Antonio Jose Uribe. Forty-five people from Embera Katio and Chami peoples (31 boys and girls, 3 teenagers and 11 adults) who are related with the education institution, as parents or students, take part in the study. The process of collecting the information was executed throughout nineteen encounters, around the “word” drawings, handcraft, games and ‘mingas ’. All this data was registered in a field journal, and also in conversations, audiovisuals, interviews and narrations. The methodological approach was both qualitative and ethnographical. The main concepts boarded in this study are childhood, education (indigenous and decolonial), interculturality, language (mother tongue and bilingualism) and cosmovision. One of the main conclusions of this research is the importance of the participation of the Embera Katio and Chami communities, in the process of creation of learning and culture preservation proposals in the school, because though education process outside their territories should not transgress their culture, unfortunately it does. The observation process showed that all the participants make use of their mother language in all the daily situations they live in the city and also assume spanish as their second language. Based on the observation it was also possible to find other characteristics of the use of the mother language and as a result of the experience it was possible to design a booklet entitled: “Embera people: meaningful learnings in the school from the ancestrality”.
