Resumen
Colombia is a highly agricultural country, which is dedicated to the cultivation of different food species from rural areas, to nourish and bring sustenance to urban areas. The use of agrochemicals, that is, chemicals designed to be applied in the field; It is part of the materials necessary for the farmer to grow large-scale crops effectively. Among agrochemicals are fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, which must be used safely and with the necessary implements so that environmental damage or damage to the health of agricultural workers is not generated. Various studies have corroborated the effects on the soil, environment and health due to the indiscriminate implementation of agrochemicals; various species of fauna and flora can also be affected by receiving these chemicals through direct application or wind. Taking into account the above, this work seeks to contextualize the visiting population to the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden of Bogotá (hereinafter JBBJCM) regarding the use of agrochemicals and the environmental impacts that can be caused or have been generated in the country. , in order to achieve incentives towards the care and protection of ecosystems and regulation in the application of these products; For this, an environmental experience or tour carried out through some JBBJCM collections was used.
