Resumen
This degree work aims to develop the design, construction and evaluation of a prototype wind vertical axis turbine operating at less than or equal speeds to 5 m / s, for which the system of conventional mechanical coupling was replaced by a magnetic bearing system with the goal of reducing losses caused by friction. The turbine was designed in a modular way so that they can adapt to any environment, making it easy future assembly and dismantling of the same, either for testing processes and operation, or for replacement parts in case so require. All parts are designed so that when integrated operate optimally. The development of this degree work permits progress in proposals currently existing design for wind generation systems that rely on technology systems magnetic bearings, which give way to the start of new research projects aimed at improving and use of these technologies in different fields of design.
