Resumen
This audiovisual project presents a creative and well-grounded research that explores the dynamics of youth integration through the case study of the Phawa folk dance academy, 4 located in the town of Bosa, Bogotá. In a Colombian context marked by historical challenges of social repression, a prolonged armed conflict and recent crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and national unemployment, the proposal highlights the understanding of the complex social fabric, the historical and cultural background surrounding the emergence and relevance of the dance academy. The case of the Phawa dance academy is a valuable example of how culture and art can act as powerful catalysts to foster integration and sociability among young people. By giving the members of the academy a voice and exploring their experiences within this space, the project seeks to provide meaningful perspectives on youth resilience, the way in which community ties are built and the transformative power of collective action driven by artistic expression. Ultimately, this audiovisual work aims to document and analyse how cultural initiatives like Phawa contribute to the social fabric and well-being of young people in challenging contexts.
