Resumen
Atmospheric pollution has increased disproportionately in recent years due to the increase in human productive activities, which in turn has increased the amount of pollutants in the air. Several chemical agents cause harm to living beings, with gaseous pollutants being the most common, and particulate matter (PM) being one of the most studied atmospheric pollutants worldwide due to its direct impact on cardiorespiratory diseases. However, more research is needed on this topic, which stimulates the study of the behavior of PM2.5 concentrations in the Corabastos sector of Bogotá. Pollution measurements obtained in an open environment and data obtained from databases of the Air Quality Monitoring Network in Bogotá (RMCAB) in the Corabastos neighborhood are analyzed.
Through data processing techniques and programs in RStudio statistical software, a reading and data analysis was constructed that allowed for hourly, daily, and monthly evaluation of the behavior of PM2.5 particulate matter measurements over the past five years. This made it possible to contrast important information about the pollutant with the ranges allowed by OMS and IBOCA, which have a tolerance range of no more than 25 μ/m³ hourly and daily and 10 μ/m³ annually. Without a doubt, any record above this value affects the respiratory quality of living beings.
