Resumen
This document delves into the structural and sound analysis of the piece SyNc for Snare Drum Solo, by composer Gene Koshinski. To do this, a proposal is made to divide the work into units, its subsequent grouping into sections and these, in turn, into parts. To support the analysis of the structure, the sound spectrum of the piece and its waveform are added. With a view to achieving a sonorous and timbre description of SyNc for Snare Drum Solo, a classification of the snare drum parts, of the implements proposed by the composer to enrich the instrument and of the actions that produce the different sonorities of the work is also presented. Finally, a timbre description is made from the sound object concept. In the second chapter, the complete performance proposal is described, including a presentation of the life of the person to whom the work is dedicated, my grandfather Jairo Emilio Cortés Cuadrado, and the motivations that gave rise to the proposal, and the other works that support the actions, their composers and their setting in space. This degree project is concretized in a performative action where the assistants -who have some relationship with my life and that of my grandfather- interact with my creative proposal as a symphonic percussionist.
