Resumen
This document records the development of a documentary-type investigation, under a hermeneutic paradigm as well as a qualitative approach, using content analysis techniques and the help of the qualitative analysis software Nvivo 12 pro. This research, in turn, is framed within the international macro project: EDUCATION IN BIOLOGY AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF CITIZENSHIP: A LATIN AMERICAN PERSPECTIVE, in which five (5) universities from the Latin American region participate. The discussion in which we want to introduce the reader, problematizes how the understanding of the concept of Living affects the different ways of configuring the exercise of a certain type of citizenship. For this, a system of categories and subcategories was designed that relate conceptions of Living and Citizenship, which will serve to organize and analyze the records evidenced in the documentary corpus referring to these conceptions. The academic production represented in presentations derived from the X National Meeting of Experiences in Teaching Biology and Environmental Education was analyzed. V National Congress of Research in Biology Teaching, held in Bogotá - Colombia; the XII National Research Meeting in Education in Sciences held in Rio Grande do Norte - Brazil and the VIII International Congress on Biology Teaching organized in Buenos Aires - Argentina. As a result of this proposal, 1,340 papers were delimited based on quantitative and qualitative criteria to a final number of 142, these make up the documentary corpus subject to content analysis. The results are shown in 6 large sections: Categories of analysis, Generalities, Trends in the epistemological conceptions of the concept of The Living, Trends in the ontological conceptions of the concept of The Living, Trends in the developed citizenship conceptions and Relationship between conceptions of The Living and types of developed citizenships. The above is in order to offer a broad view of the complex context in which educational proposals in Biology, Natural Sciences and Environmental Education are developed, in a region like Latin America where cultural diversity predominates.
