Sistematización del desarrollo y adaptación de sitios web ajustados a la norma NTC 5854

Abstract

This project is the result of the development of the websites of the Comptroller of Cordoba and the virtual classroom of the National Library of Colombia, evaluated and adapted according to the guidelines of WCAG 2.0 and NTC 5854, leaving a base of experiences and challenges in the framework of the implementation of accessibility techniques in web development. Throughout the internship the whole process was systematized, collecting the evaluations, corrections and other processes that were the basis for the production of an accessibility manual, which describes in a practical and concrete way, the implementation of web accessibility guidelines, trying to simplify the transition from the traditional development approach to an accessible development approach, demystifying the complex and tedious spectrum that has formed around web accessibility and generating confidence and awareness in the need to train and train in this trend, that with the Aggressive technology boom, it becomes increasingly imperative. The manual is structured in 4 sections, the planning section makes suggestions and decisions of the general order of the project that should be considered at the beginning of the development, such as the degree of accessibility desired and the consequences of this, the theoretical preparation of those involved in the project. project and design aspects. In the development section we describe with a certain degree of technical detail, but concrete and digestible how to implement the guidelines on web accessibility. In the Accessibility Assessment section, a methodological proposal and the suggested evaluation methods are described, making the exception, that the way in which these are applied (during the development, at the end of the development, etc.) depends on the characteristics, needs and conditions of the project itself. Finally, the Tool List collects the benefits or disadvantages in terms of accessibility of the tools that were part of the project. Accessibility is not an end, it is a process.
