Resumen
The biological system that governs our emotional spectrum is present in all human beings, from birth to the end of life and has contributed with proven success, to our survival as a species. Emotional Intelligence as part of that system, is a resource so far little explored and less applied in the learning process, however with it you can enhance the ability to learn and develop the four basic skills of a language, as well as analyze the thought and learning processes generated from its application, in addition helping the students to overcome behaviors such as; loneliness, aggressiveness, bullying, low self-esteem, family disintegration, among others. On the other hand in our time, is evident that suicide is the first cause of death of young people, because according to recent statistics that the World Health Organization offers, one in six young people when they reach the age 20, have symptoms of drug addiction and chronic drunkenness and in Colombia the situation is even more serious due to the economic and social situation, which also leads young people to crime. Taking into account that; Some authors, such as Daniel Goleman, affirm that the I.E. can improve mental skills and autonomously motivates students to develop their skills and this quality can be used to improve academic performance, not only in language learning but in all areas, in addition to improving their performance in all other aspects of their lives, it´s my intention, motivate students to develop their E.I. autonomously and take advantage of that intelligence to achieve superior academic performance in all areas, especially in learning English as a foreign language. In addition it can be verified that there is a powerful impact on the learning process especially of a second language in this case, English ” therefore the EI. as a tool or resource, not only for learning English, but also contributes to overcoming psycho-affective barriers, improving mental capacity and analyzing academic performance, mental processes that occur upon waking it and how, it can enhance all human mental abilities. When the E.I. is applied to learning languages (English) in one way or another, other skills such as stress management, overcoming fears, anguish are also unconsciously developed and results of its influence on learning in general is evidenced. In this way it is intended; "Activate the left hemisphere of the brain to promote holistic learning" Therefore, with this research and innovation proposal of pedagogical nature, we seek to contribute to improving the education system and helping students to develop their E.I. This could modify the educational system and contribute to social evolution in our country, because emotional intelligence, in addition to influencing the development of skills in a high degree of consciousness, also transforms attitudes, values and identity, thus contributing to change of the society, in addition to providing students with the ability to communicate, trade and professional relationships throughout the world, taking into account trade agreements signed with other countries, to create job opportunities and economic progress.
