Resumen
In Colombia in 2010, the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, together with the Vice Ministry of Environment, developed a "General Methodology for the presentation of environmental studies" (Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development. to fulfill the purposes, objectives and quality policies of the Licensing, Permits and Procedures Department in the evaluation and environmental monitoring processes. They seek to guide users of projects, works or activities subject to the approval of environmental licenses in order to ensure that the information contained in the Study is accurate and reliable for decision-making and for environmental monitoring. This methodology establishes the technical specifications for the characterization of the abiotic, biotic and socioeconomic means for which it is necessary, among others, the elaboration of Cartography. For its implementation, it establishes the parameters and specifications required for its management which have been established by the different institutes and official entities. This mapping must be stored by means of a geographic data model such as, in this case, the "Geodatabase". In this document of degree project in the internship modality it is intended to carry out a specific methodology for the generation of Basic and Thematic Cartography for the presentation of environmental studies developed in the company MCS Consulting and Environmental Monitoring SAS, implementing policies of quality and good development of one of the company's technical processes. To this end, the intern will develop the knowledge acquired during the academic training, being directly involved in the generation of cartography, thematic layers, environmental zoning, metadata, topology validation, information capture, among other functions that lead to help in the management of an institutional process.
