Resumen
The José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden in Bogotá is a public entity dedicated to the conservation, research, and dissemination of native species in the region. Its commitment lies in ensuring transparency, quality, and public access to information generated from research and the development of scientific knowledge. In this context, the Scientific Subdirection of the Botanical Garden faces the challenge of managing and systematizing the abundant information contained in various databases hosted in the SIDIC (Information and Data System for Scientific Research) platform. The main objective of the project is to support the management of products and metadata from research conducted between 2016 and 2023. To achieve this, a series of specific objectives have been established. Firstly, a data cleaning process has been carried out on the databases containing the products of scientific research. This involves reviewing and correcting duplicated, misreferenced or inaccurately filled information, ensuring data quality and coherence. Furthermore, efforts were made to identify publications related to the Botanical Garden in scientific databases, thus providing a complete and up-to-date record of the scientific output associated with the institution. To complement this process, participation in prioritized socialization and training events is envisaged, which has contributed to strengthening the skills and knowledge necessary for effective information management. The Serra methodology was employed to carry out this project. This methodology is based on instructions and tasks with weekly progress reports. Initially, the student was introduced to the databases and relevant information fields for product management. Subsequently, data was reviewed and cleaned, ensuring the integrity and coherence of the information. Next, information was entered and verified based on available documentation, guaranteeing the accuracy and precision of the records. Following this, a review of scientific and academic databases was conducted to identify and record publications related to the Botanical Garden. This information was integrated into the corresponding database, which was called consolidation. Finally, efforts were made to associate each product with the underlying research. This consolidated dataset will serve as a fundamental input for the documentation and systematization of products and metadata from research conducted in the Scientific Subdirection of the Bogotá Botanical Garden between 2016 and 2023
