Abstract

One of the priority approaches for CAR is conservation and proper management of wetlands, ecosystems of vital importance due to their high biodiversity and functions crucial ecological Recognizing the need to advance knowledge and management of these ecosystems, the importance of developing a solid methodology based in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools. This methodology will allow perform detailed analyzes of satellite images in the prioritized wetlands of the CAR jurisdiction, facilitating the identification and classification of coverage, as well as the detection of environmental stresses. In this context, this project seeks to support the DGOAT technical team of the CAR in the construction of a robust methodology that integrates GIS tools to the analysis of coverage in wetlands. This methodology will not only contribute to strengthening the capacity of the CAR to make informed decisions in environmental management, but rather It will also lay the foundation for better understanding and protection of wetlands through of the implementation of high-impact technologies and inputs, promoting their long-term conservation and guaranteeing its sustainable use for the benefit of communities local and environmental in general.
