Resumen
This project entitled "INFLUENCE OF THE TIME OF PERMANENCE IN THE GRAIN SIZE OF THE MARTENSITE IN A STEEL TREATED AT INTERCRITICAL TEMPERATURES" was carried out in the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas together with another project entitled "MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE GROWTH OF THE AUSTENIC GRAIN AND VERIFICATION EXPERIMENTAL OF ITS INFLUENCE ON THE HARDNESS OF A 1020 STEEL ". Since these projects go hand in hand, this only talks about the metallographic part of a steel SAE 1020. Where we want to determine the influence of time and treatment temperatures on the grain size at intercritical temperatures A1 and A3 to Through a tempering heat treatment, a sanding process, polishing and a study of the micrographs taken on 11 test pieces, this project was developed in an approximate time of 4 and a half months, period between February and June corresponding to the year 2018. Throughout the document all the information obtained is collected as data and results through the different processes made to steel SAE 1020 where it could be verified through the measurement of the grain in the micrographs obtained, which does increase the size of the grain, and the variable that most influences this variation is time.
