| dc.description.abstract | The credibility of information on social media has become a fundamental issue due to its direct influence on opinion formation and users' decision-making processes. The growth of digital platforms has broadened access to information and facilitated active participation in content creation and dissemination; however, it has also increased the risks associated with disinformation and the circulation of news whose veracity is difficult to verify. In this context, analyzing perceptions of credibility allows us to understand the criteria users employ to evaluate the reliability of the information they consume daily. Factors such as the source's reputation, the way messages are presented, the frequency of exposure, and social interaction significantly influence the building of trust. Furthermore, recent social and economic transformations have strengthened skeptical attitudes toward content disseminated in digital media, further complicating the relationship between information and credibility. Research shows that trust in news depends not only on the quality of the content but also on the dynamics of participation and validation that develop within the platforms. Therefore, strengthening critical skills and promoting verification practices is an essential strategy to foster more reliable, responsible, and informed digital environments | |
