Resumen
The purpose of this research is to interpret the social imaginaries about masculinity that emerge in relation to the dance with fifth grade students. In the same way, identify how the imaginaries are constructed, the influence of the context and the stress generated is the stage space related to dance. The research belongs to in an interpretative and qualitative approach and it uses as a methodological strategy the case study. The population subject matter is made up by 39 students (11 boys and 19 girls) in fifth grade of primary school, with ages ranging among 9 and 13 years. For the application of the associative letter and the interviews, it was taken into account a smaller sample of the same population, reducing 6 boys and 11 girls for a total of 17 students. The results are analyzed through four categories: 1. Social imaginaries seted in masculinity: A social construction marked by a patriarchal model, 2. Social Imaginaries instituting about masculinity, 3. Dance as a stage scenario of stress between the instituted and instituting imaginaries about masculinity, 4. The family and the school, reproductive institutions in the construction of social imaginaries. The conclusions report that the imaginaries are marked by a referent of masculinity constructed from a hegemonic patriarchal model, it is evidenced in the representations, opinions, associations and positions that children have about what a man should be and about the look they have in front of them. A man who approaches to an area classified " Typical" for women. However, some instituting imaginaries were identified which correspond to what is currently called masculinities, that is a construction of the same, which resist to the hegemonic terms, and which search to transform what is understood by masculinity.
